Briede Family Vineyards was honored to participate in the Four Years in Virginia experience—an extraordinary celebration of the artistry, diversity, and future of Virginia wine. It was a privilege to showcase our wines among an exceptional lineup of producers who, together, reflect the depth and character of our region.
The Friday night opened with a warm, welcoming reception where guests sampled a range of Virginia’s finest offerings. Saturday the festivities began. A curated lunch followed, beautifully arranged to highlight wines from all ten participating wineries. Each glass told a story, revealing the nuances of vintage, terroir, and the hands that crafted it.
Later in the afternoon, the program shifted to a thoughtful and engaging discussion panel. Paul proudly represented Briede Family Vineyards in a conversation centered on the “Sense of Place”—a theme that resonates deeply with our winemaking philosophy. He spoke specifically about the expressive nature of our Cabernet Franc: a wine shaped by warm days, the advantage of our western-facing slope, and cool evening temperatures that build aromatic intensity, structure, and layered complexity. This vintage truly embodies what makes Virginia wine so distinctive.
The evening concluded with an elegant dinner, where we had the special honor of presenting our “Spadoni” wine—a custom-crafted blend created as a heartfelt tribute to Mark Spadoni for his unprecedented years of championing Virginia wine. Blended by the talented Quynh Cohen, this wine marries two wines; Cabernet Franc and our signature grape, Arandell. It was a meaningful moment and one we were proud to share.
The Omni served as the perfect backdrop—gracious, refined, and wonderfully suited to an event dedicated to celebrating community, craftsmanship, and the continued rise of Virginia wine.
We are grateful to have been part of such an inspiring experience and look forward to many more opportunities to share the story of Briede Family Vineyards.
